Yemen – Old woman cures eye diseases by licking with her tongue

For fifty years, the old lady, Ghalia, has been practicing a distinctive folk medicine to treat eye diseases through her tongue, in the Dimna Nakhlan area, Ibb governorate, central Yemen, where she receives visitors daily from different areas, in her house, which has turned into a place for many patients seeking treatment. Ghalia, who became well known in Yemen, extracts pebbles, thorns, small sticks, and dust from the eyes by licking the eye with her tongue; she says that her work in this profession came accidentally while her daughter was suffering water in her eyes. People consider Ghalia a gift from God to the people of the area, as she does not take a penny from the poor.
