Yemen: Public Dismay Following Soaring Prices ahead of Eid al-Adha

In the war-ravaged region, and amid a plummet in the Yemeni currency’s value, prices of Livestock are soaring ahead of Eid al-Adha. Sheep prices range from 150 to 200 thousand Yemeni Rials and accordingly, many citizens won’t be able to afford to buy an animal sacrifice or even other necessities for the holiday. People in Taiz are living in distress as many endure abject poverty. This was coupled with a government failure to assume its duties to save the country from a looming starvation
