Iraq: Environmental Organizations Warn from a Looming Drought that will Hit Iraq
As a water disaster is looming in Sulaymaniyah, activists and Environmental Defense organizations protested against dams built in neighboring countries with no governmental plan on water usage. Protestors held banners that warn of a looming drought. It is worth mentioning that reports show that 80% of the water flow decreased from tributaries that originate outside Iraq, sparking flows of refugees, about 7 million, left their areas due to the drought
