Yemen – Complaints about the high meat prices in Aden

39

Residents in Aden, southern Yemen, complain about a substantial rise in meat prices, pushing many to avoid buying it and created a state of stagnation in the sales markets after the government set a price per kilo at 7000 riyals. Butchers in Aden believe the collapse of the Yemeni riyal against foreign currencies, the stop of importation in light of the continuation of the war, and the grim economic condition are the reasons for the high Prices making millions of Yemenis unable to secure meals.
