Iraq – Teacher grows 1200 trees expressing love to his village

Hochman Fares, a teacher from Qadfri village in Halabja governorate, Kurdistan, Iraq, grew 1200 trees on the side of the road as an individual initiative to express love for his village believing in the importance of nature and environment preservation. Fares take care of and water trees at his own expense after he returns from his school while the villagers believe that this initiative needs support from the government and organizations to raise the number of trees from 1200 to 3000 trees.
