Iraq – The decision to lift the curfew receives a local welcome in Iraq

Freedom of movement in the streets of Baghdad returned to normal after the Iraqi government decided to lift the curfew during Eid, following the rise of dissatisfaction and public pressure, as well as the intervention of political forces enforceable, according to private sources. The partial curfew will be implemented tomorrow, Monday, from 9 pm to 5 am, while ministries and government institutions will continue to be suspended until Saturday of next week. The sources reported that the Iraqi authorities’ previous decision to impose a curfew was made for security consideration owing to the approaching date of the scheduled tripartite summit in Baghdad.
