27

Members of the students’ union organized a march against the military coup in Yangon, on Burmese New Year day, holding the sprig of Eugenia. The protestors raised banners calling for democracy and chanting against the military coup that toppled the elected civilian government last February. The CRPH announced about the newly form Cabinet government with youths strikes leaders, some ethnic minorities leaders, and some members of the National League for Democracy (NLD), which aims to end the military junta as soon as possible. It is noteworthy that the security forces of the Military junta are implementing brutal suppression across the country, raising the death toll to more than 700 and resulting in the arrest of more than 4,000 people including celebrities, activists, and students, and more than 3,000 people are still behind the bars.
