Thailand- Elephant Villages are Empty Due to Covid-19

Hua Hin - Thailand 05/10/2020 Thailand has many elephant farms where tourists come from all over the world to watch and ride these elephants, but the Coronavirus, the closure of airports, and the lack of tourists have negatively affected all touristic facilities in the country, including the elephant farms, forcing officials of the farms in Hua Hin, south of the Thai capital, which was a destination for tourists from all over the world to close it. The workers in the elephant village in Muban Chang confirmed that they had about 20 elephants, but now only 6 elephants are left, and the rest of the elephants were transferred to other villages because they were unable to afford their food as one elephant eats about 300 kg of food daily, following a decline in the number of tourists, in addition to the closure of restaurants and cafes in the elephant villages.
