Tunisia – Municipal elections begin in Tunisia

Tunisia’s municipal elections, which are the first since the 2011 revolution, started on Sunday, with Tunisian voters heading to the polling stations to vote and elect their representatives in the local authority. 11,000 electoral offices are distributed across all governorates of the country, the rate of turnout is particularly weak among young people compared to the previous presidential and legislative elections. The Independent High Electoral Commission also recorded many violations in some polling stations. More than 100 foreign observers, as well as many local organizations are monitoring and documenting these violations.
