Yemen – Experts stress the need to control Al-Hodeidah port to prevent weapons smuggling to the Houthis

The military expert Colonel Mohammed al-Hashemi stressed the need to control the port of Hodeidah in western Yemen to prevent the Houthis from continuing to use it for smuggling weapons and ammunition from Iran. He added that the port of Hodeidah is a vital port for Yemen and Saudi Arabia in particular and the African region in general, pointing out that the Houthis continue to smuggle rockets and weapons from Iran through the port of Hodeidah and target the legitimate government forces and the Saudi territories, which is a threat to the entire region and causes the deterioration of the economy and the lack of access to aid to the areas affected by the war. The Arab alliance accused Iran of using the port of Hodeidah to smuggle weapons to the Houthi forces.
