USA – Atlantic Council discusses naval challenges facing NATO

Under the title “Maritime Challenges Facing the North Atlantic Treaty Organization and the US Navy in the Black Sea”, and with the participation of Vice Admiral Clive Johnston, Commander of the NATO Naval Command and retired Admiral Mark Ferguson, former commander of the US Naval Forces in Europe and other leaders, the Atlantic Council held a discussion in Washington, DC, in which human trafficking, the smuggling of illegal immigrants and the terrorists’ use for sea routes were discussed, as well as the need to intensify efforts between the United States and its European allies to develop the defensive and offensive capacity to counter drug traffickers and terrorists and ensure stability in the region.
