Yemen – Elite Forces arrest al-Qaeda’s most prominent leader in Shabwa

Security experts confirmed that Shabwa’s elite forces have made great progress in the elimination of most of al-Qaeda’s elements in different areas in Shabwa, where they recently managed to arrest the most prominent leaders of al-Qaeda Fahd Atef, brother of the senior leader of the organization Saad Atef al-Awlaki, after raiding his house which is located in Al-Mahdara, Yashbam. This comes after a huge deployment of the elite forces in areas of Al-Sa’eed Directorate, including the area of Yashbam and Al-Sefal, and after placing several checkpoints. The elite forces have managed to secure large areas in the province of Shabwa and expelled al-Qaeda’s members from it.
