Dozens of journalists and citizens attended in Aden on Thursday, the funeral of journalist Saber Al-Haidari, who was killed last Wednesday evening passing through Kabuta area in Al Mansura district in an explosion of a detonating device that was planted in his car.
According to a recent report by Reporters Without Borders, Yemen is the third most dangerous country in the world for journalists.
– Soundbite (Wafi Al-Arimi – Journalist):
“Saber was killed in a terrorist attack by a detonating device planted in his car. Saber will not be the first nor last journalist targeted in Yemen, as long as terrorist groups remain active in the country. The assassination of fellow journalist Saber Al-Haidari has not discouraged journalists in Sanaa and other parts of Yemen from continuing on the path to uncovering crimes committed by Houthis and terrorist groups.”
– Soundbite (Wathiq Al-Jinani – Journalist):
“We condemn this heinous crime and call on concerned authorities to catch and prosecute the perpetrators, to stand with journalists and help them uncover the truth, and ensure they are protected while doing their work.”
