Storyline:

The 15th edition of the Gulf Radio and Television Festival kicked off Tuesday in the Bahraini capital Manama with the motto of “Our Media is Our Identity.”

The three-day festival is among the most significant events for Gulf media outlets, with scores of media personalities and artists, production companies, and broadcasting stations participating.

Three hundred TV productions compete for the Golden and Silver Sail Awards. Seventy-five judges representing twelve countries ensure fairness and transparency using specific evaluation criteria.

The 15th edition was especially anticipated- taking place after strict conditions imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Organizers of the festival say it’s a platform that brings together the media community to exchange ideas, reflecting Gulf public awareness and identity to promote regional integration and achieve higher levels of growth and development.

Shotlist:

– Soundbite (Mohammed Jaber – Kuwaiti artist):

“I call this festival ‘fancy wedding’, as it is a wedding-like event that gathers elite young men and women from Bahrain and other Gulf countries. The award ceremony was unexpected and beyond all expectations.”

– Soundbite (Badr Bouresli – Poet):

“As a poet, I like meeting this type of people, to learn from each other. I try to learn as much as I can through this gathering, by exchanging opinions and ideas that sometimes provides guidance on how to improve. I’m happy to be among this group of people.”
