“This protocol is important since we work on using natural resources and mining. The Ministry is working on several projects and we hope to implement some of these new proposals. I mentioned earlier, that it is important to make use of natural resources and mining these days in light of the transition to clean energy that is going on in the world.”

Soundbite (Manhal Khabbaz – Iraqi Minister of Industry and Minerals, Iraq):

“The two countries are interested in such cooperation. Mineral wealth and mining are among the priorities of the two governments. We work to take advantage of all possibilities, in the field of mining or mineral wealth and use them as alternatives to energy. Today the most important of these materials is the silica, and its role in the manufacture of solar energy cells, as alternative energy and so on.”
