Thousands of Turks and residents of Istanbul head to the Sultan Ahmed Mosque during Ramadan for a group iftar as an annual tradition. Many families and residents in Istanbul are keen to come to the ancient mosque for worship on Qadr Night, Arabic for the Night of Destiny, which is one of the most blessed nights in Ramadan for Muslims, full of blessings and God’s mercy.
