Jordan – Jordanians protest in Amman against the Letter of Intent

Protestors gathered at Al-Husseini Mosque downtown after Friday prayers to begin their march protesting the Letter of Intent signed between Jordan, the UAE, and Israel last week. The protestors during their march called on the government to cancel the Jordanian-Israeli peace agreement and the Letter of Intent, as well as to look for alternative water supply, as Jordan is one of the world’s poorest countries in water. The letter announces the launch of negotiations to study the feasibility of a project in which an Emirati company will establish a renewable energy plant in Jordan, which will be transferred to Israel, and Jordan will get 200 million cubic meters of water annually in return for the construction of a water desalination plant in the Mediterranean.
