Iraq – Art and Sport Activities in Sulaymaniyah Founding Day Celebrations
Sulaymaniyah city celebrates its 237th anniversary of foundation, amid a group of artistic, social and sport activities and other various events launched in Al-Saray Square in downtown and lasts for one week. A large gathering of Sulaymaniyah people participated in the ceremony, proud of the day of their city, which was marked as the capital of culture and arts in Kurdistan, in Al-Saray building square, in which the government was established at that time. It is noteworthy that the city of Sulaymaniyah was founded on November 14, 1748 by Ibrahim Pasha Baban, one of the princes during the time of the Babanis.
