Four US military vehicles headed from their base in the southern countryside of the Rmelan town, towards the border areas with the Kurdistan region of Iraq, where the vehicles carrying around 18 American soldiers lined the square of the Semalka border crossing with the region. While a group of the American soldiers entered the Semalka Crossing Relations Office of the Autonomous Administration, the other group continued to the Relations Office on the Iraqi side to hold meetings with officials there. US forces’ patrols continue in the border areas in northern and eastern Syria with both Iraq and Turkey, in light of Turkey’s threats to launch a military campaign against the Syrian Democratic Forces in the area next to the border with Turkey.
