Iraq – Harmful emissions attract the attention of the international community to Baghdad

The official indicators of the Iraqi Ministry of Environment revealed that Iraq occupies advanced ranks in harmful emissions and environmental pollution, as a result of generating power plants and thousands of generators, which caused changes in the country’s climate as a result of global warming and led to an increase in the incidence of cancer among citizens, as confirmed by Muhammad al-Dulaimi, head of the Baghdad Center for Renewable and Sustainable Energy. For his part, the officials confirmed, Amer Obaid, the head of the Energy Efficiency Unit Committee at the Ministry of Planning, revealed that the international community has launched initiatives to support the Iraqi state for the production of renewable and clean energy, to replace harmful carbon emissions from electric power plants, with financing from the Central Bank next year.
