Syria – Children’s area in the book fair run by a child to encourage children to read
The fifth edition of the book fair was held in northern and eastern Syria entitled “Books are the Pulse of Life”, which was attended by more than 44 publishing houses, with more than 13,000 books. One corner of the exhibition is dedicated to children’s books, including stories, tales, learning letters, animal names, and others, and run by Runa Akid, a 12-year-old girl. Runa works on arranging her books and stories until the children’s visitors come to get books, she believes that the demand for children to buy their books is little, and her goal is to spread the culture of reading among children.
