Iraq- A Press Conference in Iraq on Retrieving 17 thousand looted Artefacts from the US

In a joint press conference with Iraqi culture minister Hassan Nazim, Iraqi Foreign Minister Dr. Fuad Hussein confirmed retrieving 17 thousand archaeological treasures and artifacts during the recent prime minister’s visit to Washington. With the collaboration of US organizations and archaeological faculties, the first set of artifacts was retrieved. Moreover, the Iraqi Culture Minister pointed out that thousands of artifacts, which were looted and smuggled to western countries, will be retrieved given the international resolutions and laws that help in capturing smugglers who started to hand over those precious pieces
