Palestine- Poor Economic Status Quo Drives Women into Working in Carpentry

Against all odds and amid poor economic conditions, women in Gaza were forced to overcome reactionary beliefs and work in male-dominated jobs such as carpentry to make their own living. Em Yasser, a carpenter, indicated that despite the high risk of working in such a vocation, she was able to produce wooden educational tools for kids. However, she adds that crossings’ closure along with soaring prices of wood were among the obstacles she faced. She aspires that conditions in Gaza get better to be able to export their wooden pieces
