Syria: Kurdish Women cook for fighters on the frontline

The Battle for Raqqa takes a lot more than combat in warfare. All hands on deck, the Kurdish women have been helping the fighters in their war against DAESH by providing them with warm cooked meals. Kurdish women have traditionally played important roles in Kurdish society and politics. Cooking for the fighters, they feel, is both an honour and a sacred duty, and the least they could do for the men risking their lives to liberate them.
