Cambodia – Covid forces women to work in the construction sector

The repercussions of the pandemic in Siem Reap, northwest of Cambodia, forced a large number of unemployed Cambodian women to work with men in the construction sector, where their tasks are simple that do not require physical strength, which includes tying steel while men make molds. The workers stated that the grim living conditions in their villages and the lack of work in agriculture for a daily financial return that would secure their daily expenses and their families pushed them to do this kind of hard work.
