Tunisia – Political attempts to clamp down on the Tunisian media

After receiving complaints from journalists about being assaulted by some politicians in the Tunisian parliament, the Tunisian Journalists Syndicate called for a boycott of some political parties and personalities. According to the journalist, Ali Bouchoucha, there are political and parliamentary tendencies to control journalists intimidate them and prevent them from transmitting the information.  Whereas a member of the Executive Office of the Tunisian Journalists Syndicate, Wajih al-Wafi, added that there are parties that do not want the democratic transition to complete, pointing out that the Syndicate decided to boycott the “Dignity Coalition” party and the MP “Abeer Moussa,” head of the Free Detour Party.
