Syria: A Workshop to Produce Iron Taken from the Remnants of War
In the war-ravaged region, Amer and Hammoud often purchase spent missiles, mortar shells, and shrapnel; the remnants of deadly weapons of war launched by Iranian militias on civilians, to utilize the scrap metal. They dismantle their pieces, recycle them and then smelt them. Hammoud pointed out that these deadly weapons that aim at wiping out people are utilized for producing heaters and construction material, adding that he dismantles shells and missiles to clear them from explosive materials before transferring them to the scrapyard
