Iraq – Experts: Iraq continues to be an insecure place for journalistic work

TV channel owners and Iraqi media staff have stated that Iraq is still a dangerous place for journalistic work.  This comes as a statement on the annual survey report published by the International Federation of Journalists, as Iraq ranks 3rd in the list of countries with the highest rate of journalists’ deaths in the world along with Afghanistan, India, and Nigeria. In addition to the detection of 235 journalists on charges related to their work, figures demonstrate that 42 journalists and media employees were killed while performing their duty in 2020.
