Syria- Under New Mechanism- Thousands of Syrian Displaced Families Leave al-Hawl Camp

al-Hawl – Al-Hasakah – Syria 17/11/2020 

More than 120 displaced Syrian families were released from al-Hawl refugee camp heading to Al-Susah and Al-Baghuz towns in Deir ez-Zor countryside. The first batch left on the 3rd of June 2019 under certain conditions. However, the camp administration clarified that the 30th batch left without any tribal guarantees in contrary to previous ones. The office in the camp allowed voluntary evacuation as it only registers refugees’ names and asks for identification cards.  According to UN statistics, Hawl refugee accommodates more than 64 thousand, most of which are women and children
