Iraq: Infiltrators Assault Security Forces amid Protests in Bagdad

The Director of the Department of Relations and Information at the Ministry of Interior, Major General Saad Maan stated that hundreds of Molotov cocktails were hurled at security forces during the demonstrations to commemorate the anniversary of the October uprising in Bagdad. He clarified that the security forces were present to preserve the safety of protestors as well as public and private properties, calling upon demonstrators to remain in the protesting squares. Iraqi health spokesman, Saif Al-Badr, said in a press conference with security leaders that more than 400 security members and 40 civilians were injured.  These demonstrations took place to mark one year since the October uprising swept the country
