Syria: The purposes of forming a military and civilian council for Manbej city and its countryside

Before starting the military campaign to liberate Manbej city and its countryside, a military council was formed under the name of the military council of Manbej and its countryside, in addition to the formation of a civilian board. The military council aims to liberate the city and its countryside from ISIS and protect them after the liberation, while the civil one aims to manage the city affairs after its liberation.

Most of the factions and forces which fall under the command of the military council of Manbej were formed from Arab components, where the number of troops involved in the campaign is about 5000 fighters, including 4,500 fighters from the military council of Manbej and 500 fighters from the Syrian democratic forces and their mission is logistics.
