Iraq – New ISIS leader’s entry into Iraq sparks controversy
Baghdad – Iraq 28/04/2020
After Amir Mohammed Abdul Rahman al-Moly al-Salbi, known as Abu Ibrahim al-Qurashi, took over the leadership of ISIS as a successor to Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, leaked information had revealed that he had entered Iraqi territory on Tuesday, taking advantage of the world’s preoccupation with the crisis of the new Coronavirus outbreak, which has sparked controversy within Iraqi circles, analysts considered this information to be inaccurate and not beyond expectations, while others felt that its validity means restoring the momentum and activity of ISIS inside Iraq, pointing to a major flaw in the Iraqi security system.
