Syria – Coronavirus causes economic crisis in northeastern Syria

The outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic has cast a shadow on the economy in the Autonomous -Administration provinces of northeastern Syria, where the exchange rate of the U.S. dollar rose to 1285 Syrian pounds due to the decision to stop the injection of foreign currency by the Central Bank of Syria, as indicated by traders in the region that the decision to stop the movement of goods through border crossings and close markets and stop working in several sectors also contributed to the severity of the economic contraction.
