Iraq – Initiatives reflecting social solidarity in the time of Coronavirus

As part of a humanitarian initiative that reflects the meaning of social solidarity, a number of property owners in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, have exempted tenants from paying their dues, such as renting houses or shops during curfews and work disruptions, in order to alleviate the burden of Coronavirus crisis, which has had a major impact on the income of individuals and families, especially those who have had to stop working, close shops and stop buying and selling, landlords pointed out the need to ease the citizens in these difficult circumstances and help the unfortunate and shopkeepers and occupations affected by the commitment to close their stores in accordance with government decisions to reduce the outbreak of the coronavirus.
