Philippines- In conjunction with Labor Day… Protests demanding replacement of local labor instead of Chinese

Coinciding with Labor Day, massive protests against the federal government were launched  in the streets of the Filipino capital Manila, , demanding a higher minimum wage, and the suspension of economic agreements signed with Chinese companies, ones that compel the Filipino government to employ Chinese workers, leading to a raise in unemployment rates in the country, protesters stressed the need to use local employment instead of expatriate workers, stating that the work done by the Chinese people, could be carried out by the Filipinos.
