Somalia – OIC holds conference on intellectual security and countering extremism

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) held an international conference today in the capital Mogadishu to discuss the concept of Intellectual Security and Countering Extremism, with the aim of shedding a light on the greatest strengths and weaknesses in Muslim societies, in order to develop a common approach for enhancing intellectual security in the Islamic world, therefore making it intellectually protected against extremism. The conference was attended by representatives of OIC member states and observer states, as well as permanent members of the United Nations Security Council, European and African States with diplomatic representation in Somalia, in addition to observers from international and regional organizations.
