Somalia – One of Al-Shabaab leaders surrender amid concerns of implanting members of the movement in the government
Mogadishu – Somailia 29/04/2019
After the Shura Council member, Adam Abdi Mohammed surrendered to the Somali government forces a few days ago due to his repeated disagreements with the Amir and senior officials of Al-Shabaab Movement, analysts believe that even though many leaders of the movement recently surrendered to the Somali government, however, that did not affect the movement’s ability to carry out assaults against the Somali government and the African forces that support it. They also said that the dissent of the movement’s leaders is thoroughly prearranged with the aim of manipulating the state and spying on the Somali intelligence service to provide the movement with intelligence information to help them launch further attacks against the Somali government. They also called for investigating the members to make sure they truly abandoned the movement’s ideologies before they join the government.
