Thailand – Dog Rehabilitation Center in Chiang Mai
Chiang Mai – Thailand 27/04/2019
In Thailand, street dogs have been a huge problem in the past years, a phenomenon that has spread all around the country. Since October 2015, the NGO Worldwide Veterinary Service (WVS) opened its center in Chiang Mai, taking care of animal welfare and particularly stray dogs population. The center is located in the countryside where dogs enjoy vast and shaded green spaces. At this moment the center hosts about 70 dogs that are being rehabilitated, then after that, they become adopted by Thai and foreign families, thanks to the work of volunteers from all over the world. In addition, the NGO takes care of the training of more than a hundred veterinarians each year and provides information and data about the local dog population in an attempt to prevent the spreading of the stray dogs’ phenomenon and its negative consequences.
