Outside the walls of the ancient city of Chiang Mai, and on Wallai Street or the so-called “Silver Street”, the Wat Sri Sufan Temple ” The Silver Temple” was built entirely of silver and aluminum, the painting in front of the building describes it as “the first silver tomb in the world”, the temple is an considered to be an important center for the manufacture of silver handicrafts, in addition for allowing future generations of young people to learn this craft to maintain its continuity in the city of Chiang Mai, Wallai Street is famous for the silverware and very fine designs, the history of the street goes back to the reign of King Lana Quila who ordered the residents of Salawin (northwestern Thailand) about 200 years ago, to come to Chiang Mai, in order to establish a community shapers silver, ditectly outside the walls of the old city, for they were known to be very skilled in the silverwear industry.
