Palestine – Gaza marks Prisoners’ Day with a mass march
Gaza-Palestinian 18/04/2019
Hundreds of people from the Gaza Strip staged a mass march to mark the Prisoners’ Day, which falls on 17 April each year. The march was attended by representatives of different Palestinian blocs. The march was launched from Al Saraya Square in central Gaza City, to the Red Crescent headquarters, west of the city, where the participants raised flags of Palestine and Palestinian factions, along with pictures of prisoners held in Israeli prisons. The participants also called Israel to implement the agreement they made between the prisoner movement and the Israeli Prison Service, which provides for removing the jamming devices and installing a public telephone in each section of the prisons, in addition to ending the prisoners’ isolation and improving the health situation for sick prisoners by providing them with the necessary medical attention.
