Tunis – Tunisia 02/02/2019
Under the slogan “Our children are a red line”, the “Angry Parents” group demanded during a protest involving thousands of parents for their children to be kept neutral to political tensions and not be dragged into conflicts. The protesters raised signs demanding the departure of the secretary-general of the National Federation for Secondary Education. This was after the high school teachers insisted on not giving exams and threatened with a white year.
Primary and secondary education union went into conflict at the beginning of the academic year with the Ministry of Education to demands for an increase in wages and a decrease in the age of retirement. This prevented the students from having the first trimester examination and disrupted all educational institutions.
