Iraq – Demolition of a building ISIS used for executing citizens in the east side of Mosul

Iraqi authorities in Mosul demolished the National Insurance Company building located in Al-Dowasa district in the city center of the east side of Mosul. This building is considered an Iraqi monument of modern architecture, however it is linked to painful scenes for the citizens because it was used by ISIS during its battles in Mosul as location for dumping victims and executing citizens. In addition to that, big parts of the building were destroyed. Therefore, the citizens of Mosul asked concerned bodies for the reconstruction of the destroyed monument to be based entirely on the old design because the citizens of Mosul take pride in its the authenticity.
