Human rights activists said that the Iraqi government and international organizations in the country not doing their best in helping the residents of Fallujah City, west of Baghdad, especially when it comes to landmines and explosive devices that were left by ISIS between citizens’ homes since the battles ended two and a half years ago. Let alone the congenital malformations issue, where 5% of newborns might be infected due to being subjected to uranium in the city. On the other hand, monitoring teams of the Human Rights Commission paid a visit to the affected areas in the liberated areas and identified the imbalances caused by ISIS remnants, which was discussed with the concerned government authorities. In the same context, some international organizations such as HALO Trust, continue to clear the city of Fallujah from landmines.
