Iraq – Intensive military raids to eliminate ISIS sleeper cells

Baghdad – Iraq 24/11/2018

The Iraqi forces had intensified their patrolling and deployment plans in Hawija area south-west of Kirkuk and the borderline with Syria to eliminate ISIS cells. Military experts believe that this comes after the high percentage of security violations that have hit the region recently by the sleeper cells affiliate to ISIS that laid explosives everywhere and bombed Hawija and surrounding areas with mortars. Same military experts believe that Iraqi forces had become more active on borderline with Syria to prevent infiltration of ISIS members’ to Iraq since they are a major threat to the Iraqi National Security.
