Jordan – UNRWA reduces budget deficit to $21 million this year

The Commissioner-General for UNRWA, Pierre Krähenbühl, declared during a press conference he held on Monday in the Dead Sea, that the agency’s budget deficit for the year 2018 has been reduced from 446 to 21 million dollars. He also added that UNRWA was able to reduce the budget deficit by attracting new funding resources from the Gulf countries, Turkey and other countries, after the US announced withholding the financial donations they provide to UNRWA, which is 360 million dollars annually.
