Libya – Russian weapons fuel conflict and tension between parties

Russia’s supply of weapons to some of the warring parties in Libya, mainly the military led by Marshal Khalifa Hafer, has raised fears that these weapons are fueling the country’s security crisis and the continued rivalry between them. Observers found that the fact that parties ask Russia for arms and ammunition is because of the US and European sanctions imposed on Libya for years in relation to purchasing arms, calling on the Russians to play it calmly rather than increasing the tension in the country.
