Syria – Syrian football clubs return to the green stadiums

The football clubs in the northern Syrian cities have returned to the stadiums after an absence of more than seven years, to participate in the local championship, which includes the majority of the teams there, namely the teams of Manbij, Raqqa, Tabaqa, Al-Jazira and Deir Al-Zour. This championship is the first since the crisis emerged, and it is aimed at rehabilitating the players physically and psychologically. For its part, the Syrian Democratic Council stressed that it will provide all the needed support to the northern Syrian teams, with the aim of restoring the sport and cultural life in those cities.
