Iraq – IDPs complain about the expensive rents on the left side of Mosul

Old City on the right side and left side of Mosul – Iraq 8/7/2018

Displaced people on the left side of the city of Mosul complain about the expensive rent of houses due to its high demand after the displacement of the majority of the inhabitants of the right side who left their areas due to the battles and the great destruction that took place on the right side of Mosul, especially in the Old City. This matter forced some residents to return to their homes on the right side despite the destruction and the piles of rubble, as well as the weakness and deterioration of basic services in their areas compared to the left side. The returnees started reconstructing their homes on the right side relying on their own efforts and their weak potentials.
