Iraq – Mosul children celebrate Eid on the rubble of the old city

Residents of the old city of Mosul celebrated the first Eid al-Fitr after four years of ISIS organization occupation, with the rubble and ruins of commercial buildings and destroyed residential houses. The Eid celebration planted a smiles on the faces of children of the old city as they played with primitive and simple games such as swings suspended from the remains of destroyed buildings. The small numbers of returnees living among the rubble of their homes demand that the Iraqi government and the international community move quickly and help the old Mosul through reconstruction to regain life back to the city.
